'The biggest race of my life' Johnstown resident becomes youngest person to run the Badwater 135 Ult

Somerset County, PA Fewer than 1 thousand people have ran the ultramarathon that a young woman from our area has just completed. Kaylee Frederick of Johnstown finishing the race in 40 hours. She started the race on July 4th at 8 PM.

Organization rescuing pets from Afghanistan completes fundraising, 11 dogs headed to Maine

A mission to fly more than 300 hundred rescue dogs and cats from Afghanistan to the U.S. with some headed for Maine is officially fully funded and ready to take off. The group Kabul Small Animal Rescue posted on their Facebook page that they have met their goal of $815,000.

Wolf announces retention of 438 jobs, upgrades to Domtar Corp. in Elk, Clearfield counties

HARRISBURG Gov. Tom Wolf announced Wednesday the retention of 438 jobs over the next three years and major upgrades to the Domtar Corporation in Elk and Clearfield counties. Domtar Corporation is a company dedicated to the design, manufacture, marketing and distribution of pulp, paper and personal care products.
